Two churches in Mallorca. Valldemossa Charterhouse has 1 ticket or tour to book; Palma Cathedral has 13 tickets and tours to book. The table and the two notes below put them side by side; the full pages have what to see, the ticket and the timing for each.
The Carthusian Monastery, the Real Cartuja, stands in the mountain village of Valldemossa, in the Serra de Tramuntana, about twenty kilometres north of Palma de Mallorca, and a ticket is required, which covers the church, the cloisters, the pharmacy, the prior's cell, the museum and the cells where Frédéric Chopin and George Sand stayed, with a short piano recital included at set times.
One ticket covers the cathedral, the chapter house museum and the terraces below the rose window; buy it online to skip a line that builds by mid-morning in season. The rooftop visit is a separate, more expensive guided climb onto the upper terraces of the nave, limited to small groups and sold months ahead for the summer; it is the best thing the cathedral offers and involves 215 steps in a spiral.
