The Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec stands on a limestone cliff above the Vistula river, on the south-western edge of Kraków, about twelve kilometres from the city centre, and entry to the abbey church and courtyard is free, while the museum and guided tours of the abbey have small fees. It is one of the oldest monasteries in Poland. Visitors can reach Tyniec by city bus, by bicycle along the Vistula cycle path, which is a popular route, or by boat from Kraków in summer.

Krakow, Poland
There are two doors and two rules. The door from the square facing the Cloth Hall is for prayer and is free; the side door is for sightseeing and charges a small ticket, sold in the house opposite. A separate cheap ticket lets you climb the taller tower, the one the trumpeter plays from, in groups every half hour during the warmer months. A photography permit costs extra. The combined ticket for church and tower is the sensible buy.
