Church tours in Mtskheta

Tours of Mtskheta combine the old capital's two great churches: Jvari Monastery on the hill above the confluence of two rivers, and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in the town, where tradition places the robe of Christ. Most tours start in Tbilisi, twenty minutes away, and add Gori, Uplistsikhe or the Ananuri fortress.

Churches require modest dress, and women usually cover their heads; headscarves and wraps are lent at the entrance.
